Provides 422,000 biographies on 335,000 people throughout history. Included are
links to web sites and to full-text articles. This is a good database for finding
short biographies on prominent social reformers and includes access to such sources
as Marquis Who's Who, Contemporary Black Biographies, The Dictionary of American
Biographies and the Encyclopedia of World Biographies.

Chicano Database (RLG)
1967-
Indexes articles on a wide-range of subjects relating to Mexican Americans. Records
added since 1992 expand the scope to include the broader Latino experience, including
Puerto Ricans, Cuban Americans, and Central American immigrants. This database
is limited to 5 simultaneous users.
Child Welfare League of America: National Data Analysis System
The Child Welfare League of America calls this the "most comprehensive collection
of child welfare data available." This site aggregates data from a number of
other sources including the U.S. Census from 1990 - present, the federal Adoption
and Foster Care Reporting System, Center for Disease Control, Urban Institute
and many more. The site includes fact sheets, bulletins and downloadable data
as well as graphs, charts and state-by-state comparible data on child welfare
issues.
